In order to understand what the train demands of the track and the response of the track to the train inputs, ARRT perform field tests at selected locations on the client's tracks.

Without field tests, the results of any analytical work are as good as the imagination of the analyst. The results of field tests actualize that imagination. When correctly analyzed, field data provides ARRT with the foundation for recommending policy changes to the client.

Laboratory testing allows a closer look at track components and their characteristics so that appropriate specifications can be developed. ARRT can perform test on any track component or can develop the requisite rig for such testing when required to do so. Where ARRT does not have the test rig in-house to do the work, it has in the past worked with educational institutions and other laboratories to get the job done to the client's satisfaction.
